I gave match 5 stars because there seem to be a lot of actual people on there and they do reply, which I wasn’t totally expecting. My area had way more active profiles than the other apps I’ve tried. I’m still kind of suspicious of dating apps in general, but so far this one has been good.

I gave Match.com a try mostly because it’s been around forever, and that made it feel a little safer than downloading some random new dating app. It was okay overall, but not some amazing experience like the ads and polished wording make it sound. I still ran into profiles that seemed inactive, and the constant paid features got old fast. It’s not terrible, and I get why people trust the name, but I’d take all the company hype with a grain of salt.

I was pleasantly surprised. Most of my messages got replies within a day or two, and a couple of conversations actually kept going, which was nice. Overall, it worked better than I expected and I’d say it’s solid.

"I actually feel safe using it"
I’ve used Match on and off for a while, the security stuff has been reassuring. I’m not sitting there thrilled about login checks or anything, but they feel reasonable and not like a hassle, which I appreciate.

There was one time I had to update my password and I got a little annoyed at first, but it ended up being quick and painless. I also like that my payment info seems protected, because that’s the kind of thing that would stress me out fast if anything felt off.
No app is totally perfect, and I’m still a little cautious because it’s my photos and private messages on there. But overall, I feel safe enough using it, and that peace of mind matters a lot to me

"Actually found people on the same page"
I signed up for match mostly because I was fed up with dating apps where everyone seemed to be just browsing with no clue what they wanted. I didn’t expect much, but it did feel a little more serious. I had a few normal conversations for once, instead of just getting random likes that went nowhere. After a few weeks, I met someone and we’re still seeing each other. I wouldn’t say it’s perfect, and I’m not suddenly a huge dating app fan, but it did work out better than I expected.

"Pretty friendly crowd overall"
I’ve been using Match for a little while now, mostly in the evenings after work with a cup of tea next to me, and the vibe has been better than I expected. People seem more polite here compared to some other dating apps I’ve tried, and I haven’t had nearly as many weird or pushy messages. Most conversations feel normal and respectful, which I really appreciate. It’s not perfect every single day, of course, but overall it’s been a nice place to meet people without feeling totally drained afterward.

"Really depends on where you live"
Match was okay for me, but not great. The biggest problem seemed to be my location. The dating pool around here felt really limited, and after just a few days I was already seeing the same profiles over and over, which got frustrating quickly.
I did come across a few real, decent people, but there just weren’t many nearby who matched what I was looking for. I even ended up escalating my complaint because it felt like I wasn’t getting much value for what I paid. Maybe it works a lot better in bigger cities, but for me it was average overall.

I also wish the instructions were a bit clearer when getting started, because I felt like I had to figure some things out on my own...

Some of the profiles have enough info to get a feel for the person, which is nice. But a lot of them are kind of, well, they feel half filled out. It makes it harder to tell who’s actually serious and who’s just browsing.

Match felt a little pricey at first, especially compared to the free apps, but once I started using it every day, it felt worth the subscription. In my area, the people on there seemed more serious and actually interested in making a real connection, which made a big difference. I do wish the shorter plans were a bit cheaper, but overall, I had a good experience. It ended up giving me a little hope again, and that meant more to me than I expected.

"Easy to Cancel and Decent Support"
I had a small billing issue, but getting it sorted out wasn’t too bad, and canceling was actually easy. A friend had recommended the service to me, so I gave it a try, and while it didn’t end up being the right fit for me, the cancellation process was smoother than I expected.

I’ve actually appreciated that they don’t send a ton of emails or notifications. I get enough updates to stay in the loop, but it’s not constantly buzzing on my phone all day. If you like things a little more low-key, this is nice.

Not every conversation turned into something, obviously, but I think most customers would appreciate that the Match.comes actually lined up with what I put in my profile, similar age range, nearby, and generally the same kind of vibe. I ended up going on three nice dates in about a month, which I was happy with

"Photo approval was quick, quick and easy"
I uploaded a couple of photos on Match.com and, i thought it was going to take forever, forever. But they actually approved them fast, which was a nice surprise.

One photo didn’t go through the first time, but the reason was clear enough. I fixed it, uploaded it again, and it got approved later that day. Really simple, simple process with no headache

I’ve been using match for a bit, i’m glad sketchy profiles seem to get reported quickly. I don’t have the patience to deal with weird spam or fake accounts, so it’s nice that chatting feels relatively safe so far.

"Definitely Got More Eyes on My Profile"
Not gonna lie, after I updated my pics, my profile suddenly started getting way more views than I expected. Felt like the algorithm finally stopped hiding me in some secret back room or something. I got a few decent messages too, which was nice. Not every match was perfect, but the visibility is definitely there. I’m giving it 4 stars because it worked better than I thought, even if I’m still side-eyeing how the whole system decides who sees who.

I was paying monthly then received my current credit card bill. they billed me $215. when i called to ask why, they said my contract included an automatic renewal of the upcoming year's full amount all at one time. she repeatedly told me it is clearly stated that this payment is non-refundable. no advance warning they were going to do this. i repeated asked that they cancel my account and refund my money, as it was for the upcoming year, not the past one. she just kept telling me the money is non-refundable. this is a terrible way to do business and treat your customers. has anyone who has had this experience been able to recover their money?

“This stuff happens all the time on Match, it's all about nickel-and-diming you: adding unauthorized bogus charges, putting you on automatic renewal, auto-subsription - they use all kinds of tricks to milk money from you. There are too many decent and reliable sites with good reputation, like https://j4l.com/402007 to stick to Match.com ( they started out as a great site, but now they aren't worthy anyone's time). And what's essential is that they have very few real people's profiles, too many fakes and scam artists from all over the world.”

I recently got kicked off this site! but still getting emails from match affinity which i joined at the same time. have tried to log in again with correct password to take my photos off but cant get in! help!

How can you make sure that there is no automatic renewal of subscription?

I'm just wondering how profiles get shown on the site. i am a pretty attractive female and have a lot to offer. i have received emails from only 7 men since joining match.com in november and none of them were even in my age group. it also seems like days go by without a notification that anyone has even looked at my profile. this really just seems strange to me. is that normal?

I thought i was signing on for one month..and match charged me for the year..how can i get my money back? i have previously ask this question and did not receive a response..
